StS rocks! My favorite swim of all time. The river is beautiful. The support is stellar. The parties are unforgettable. The prize for swimming (and kayaking) it is the best. Stay up late to sign up though. The race fills up quickly, like within hours. My year (2012) it was full I think in 3 hours. 2012 we also got little to no current; I went 15:00 faster than my typical "flat" course.

Karah usually opens the event sign-up around the end of January or early February. Keep an eye on the webpage, www.swimthesuck10mile.com, or you can contact Karah for the exact date. There are plenty of escort kayaks for swimmers. If you don't have a kayaker to help guide you, keep your food and drinks, the COWS will provide you with one for the event. The Friday night social is a lot of fun. The food is good. The goodie bag is great. Event details will be discussed at length. The weather and water current has varied each year. I have known Karah since high school. She puts her heart into making this event a success for everyone. If I see her this week, I will ask for the start date for sign-ups and post them here.
