I know this is where the tri swim is, so it has been done. How about on your own? Safety, conditions, underwater scenery, other swimmers...? I recently returned from a trip to San Diego and did another swim in La Jolla Cove. Great bunch of people, no pressure, and a variety of swimming conditions and distances. Kelp is almost always part of the equation as is the 55 - 60 water temps. Check out their web page: www.facebook.com/KelpKrawlers

This group swims Tuesday evenings @ 5:15 pm, Friday night @ 6:00 pm and Sundays @ 11:00 am. Check for seasonal times and locations (either Wharf 2 in Monterey or Pacific Grove @ Lover's Point). Bring food and drink? for tailgating Fridays and Sundays which is always the best or just join in.

Groups range from 10-50 depending on who is training for what events.

The marine life and kelp at Pacific Grove will spice up your swims but you will never ever leave disappointed. Guaranteed.

RE: Lover's Point Pacific Grove

Thanks! They swim there and at Del Monte Beach in Monterey two or three times a week. I swam with them on a Tuesday, early evening last September in Monterey, and they were a great bunch of people. Check with Chris Villanueva at cvillatri@yahoo.com
