You might could check in Downtown Jersey City, the prices are considerably less, it's a short PATH subway ride to the WFC complex, and easier to get to EWR if that's how you're arriving/ departing. Heck, some of the escort kayaks come over from there - if you're up for a 2 mile warmup. . .

i have stayed in several hostels in NYC for NYCSWIMs and CIBBOW swims and recommend them for short swims but not for your swim. Good luck with your MIMS swim.

bob - you can still ask for input? but i thought there was a resource at nycswim. FYI - do not stay at the white house hostel in the bowery if doing a 26-mile swim...

Have you tried looking at the hotels link on NYC Swim web site? www.nycswim.org/.../Hotels.aspx Like most New Yorkers, it is very helpful:D Look for something in your price range close to Battery Park. LOL! You were right. I don't know why I didn't look there first. :-)
