Fun race. It rained the night before so Teal Lake was colder than a spring fed lake (Cedar Beach Lake) had been the previous day. It still wasn't that cold, though. I did better than either of the previous times i did this race (by one minute 5 seconds or so). I'll be back next year, most likely. Whinge: Janet Evans was not at the finsih line to shake my hand. I had to seek her out to get a hand shake. And no hugs for me, either :( She gave a good speech though.

I can't do it this year, but this is an interesting location for an OW race. The UP has some god-forsaken country.

www.teallakeswim.com/Information Saturday, July 31, Negaunee. Cold. It really can get cold. There is no month of the year that Negaunee has not had snow. On the other hand, the first time I swam this, it was warmer and smoother than the university pool in which I usually swim. It smelled a whole lot better, too.
