This lake and the surrounding towns are my favorite summer place in the world. I'll happen to be there this summer at this time and so will be able to swim in this race

RE: Flathead Lake OW swim (Montana)

Patrick W. I'll keep it in mind for next year. Flathead Lake is a drivable distance from where I live.

Mark your calendars for 2010: August 7th.

RE: Flathead Lake OW swim (Montana)

I'll keep it in mind for next year. This is a great event that supports Mission Valley Aquatics' (www.mvaquatics.org) drive to construct a community, indoor pool. If you care to read more, here's my blog post on this: forums.usms.org/blog.php. I'd HIGHLY encourage anyone considering swimming in Montana to come out for this race next year.

RE: Flathead Lake OW swim (Montana)

Thanks! I'm aiming for Glacier at some point and hope to throw in Flathead Lake as a side trip. August 1 is awfully soon to plan a trip from Chicago. (It's also the date of the USMS 6-Mile-Plus Championship in Little Traverse Bay, Harbor Springs, MI, so I guess CreamPuff's calendar is preoccupied that weekend!) :)

I like the community swims. If this is an annual event, I'll look for it in coming years.
