Nice temperature too. Was it just me or were the waves much bigger than last year? They seemed huge to me out there in the middle.

I also ran into a large dead animal. My hand hit a furry hip bone and I didn;t know what it was until

RE: Chesapeake Bay Swim 2009

I completed my first one and LOVED it. I agree the waves were bigger in the middle and I think the current was stronger than one knot. I think the middle was a much different swim than either end was but that&#39;s what makes it fun.

I saw one poor swimmer swim right into a pillar. A kayak was right there so i didn&#39;t stay around but i&#39;m sure that person&#39;s swim was over.

I didn&#39;t swim into any dead animals but i did swim into a rock or cinderblock or something near the end. I scraped the heck out of my underarm and chest pretty bad.<div style="clear:both;"></div>
