First is Flowers Sea Swim which happens in June.  I believe they start at the Ritz/Westin and swim down to the Comfort Suites.  They have a great website.  You could try that route.  The second is a 5K swim during Pirate Week in November.  I am not sure of the route here.
 
Agreed on the beaches.  The water is clear and BEAUTIFUL.  
 
If things work out, I may head down for the Flowers swim.  It is usually Fathers&amp;#39; Day Weekend, so not during peak tourist times.  
 
Oh and a quick travel tip. The water is clear and clean-they used to have some open water events but I haven&amp;#39;t heard about any lately.
