What&#39;s the water like down there? Clean? Temperature?

I&#39;m looking at the race location on a map, and I&#39;m not getting excited. It appears to be some kind of drainage sluice.

RE: PMS - Parkside Aquatic Mile: water quality?

No idea. I am sorry to tell you that your assessment is pretty accurate. I have done it twice. Water temperature both times around 65-70, warmer than I had expected. Visibility poor. Second time I did it the whole area had a faint but unmistakeable sewage smell. On the bright side, the event was nicely organized and there is a big play structure in the middle of the beach for your kids to enjoy while they wait for you to return from your adventure.<div style="clear:both;"></div>
