Did anybody do the Pensacola Bay Swim? If so, and if you saw anything interesting on the bottom, there's a nice ongoing thread I could pull up. Salt water? The Pensacola Bay Swim - renamed the 3-Mile Bridge Swim and Aquathon is May 25, 2008. 3milebridgeswim.org It is not a usms event this year, but maybe next year.

Hawai`i has a bunch too. http://www.hawaiiswim.com is a place to start. That covers most of them.

Mr. Gill has teamed up with some of the Tri folks to add a sanctioned USMS OW swim as part of some races this year...mixing oil & water eh Mark?! Cheap golf, 100+ degree temps, cool water (63 this weekend), what else do you need? First swim 6/7: www.dcbadventures.com/.../eventDetails.php

Don't forget the Low Country Splash in Charleston, SC: May 31 www.lowcountrysplash.com/ 2.4 miles with a fast current. Winning times are under 40 minutes. and the Beaufort River Swim also in SC on June 21 (3-4 miles) www.readaboutbeaufort.com/ Also on June 21 is the Swim around Key West (over 12 miles) www.fkccswimaroundkeywest.com/ and the "NC Swimming Open Water Championships Seven Lakes, West End, NC, about 10 miles from Pinehurst, Saturday and Sunday, June 7th and 8th, 2008" www.ncmasters.org/ several events: 800m, 2k, 3k, 5k and a 10k on Sunday.
