I&#39;m new to the USMS forums and I have a couple of questions about open water 10K swimming. How much weekly yardage is typically needed in order to survive the swim? Last year in Huntington, NY three swimmers competed in your age group whose times ranged from 3:33 to 4:07; I&#39;m told they had adverse conditions. The 10K was last held in Clemson in 2002.

I&#39;ve done a number of 5Ks myself but never had the opportunity to try 10K. I hope you give it a try - good luck!<div style="clear:both;"></div>
