I am looking for sites that might give accurate water temps. This one is good during the season when the beaches are open. It shows the temperatures at various beaches.

Coast Watch shows a fairly wide variation from NOAA, which might be expected, as contiguous lake areas can be warmer or cooler. NOAA has hourly updates. Think I&amp;#39;ll just take a thermometer along next time I am really curious.

Did anyone read the article on swimming across the Mississippi in the current Outside magazine? (It may also be available online.) Alligator gar.
