Great water quality. Not a USMS sanctioned event. In fact it is not even an event...yet.

RE: Caspian Lake Vermont Swim

I taught swimming in this lake. As I said, this is not a race yet. It would be me swimming the lake alone with boat support. 1.75 miles. I did contact USMS for info on how to initiate an USMS open water event for next summer. We have a camp on this lake and I am not kidding about the water quality--one of the top 10 lakes in America for clarity and cleanliness. Lake Willoby and Crystal Lake have similar profiles The lake is at an altitude of 1800 ft and in the shape of an hourglass. It is 160 feet at it's deepest point, and the water temp is around 70 at midsummer.

I am leaving tomorrow for a week up there. I plan to swim the lake next week on a calm day--maybe wednesday or thursday. I'll be swimming everyday 1-1.5 miles to build up to it.

RE: Caspian Lake Vermont Swim

Can you tell me where to find info. about the race? I might be interested depending on the date.

Thanks.
