I have done 2 open water events - 1 mile each and loved it.

Is going that extra mile super difficult or is it all in making sure I pace correctly?

RE: Is a 2Mile swim difficult?

If you can go 1 mile & enjoy it, you can go 2 miles. Absolutely correct; just pace it out. I find that when I can swim 3 miles, I can actually swim 5 also. But after the 5 mile mark, it gets iffy for a bit until used to it.

Enter the race!!

RE: Is a 2Mile swim difficult?

And I forgot to add, how hard you decide to swim it. If you just swim to finish, it probably won't be as hard as if you decide you want to place in the top 3. Open water is just like any other event in that sense.

RE: Is a 2Mile swim difficult?

I think the answer depends on your current level of fitness, the yardage you are used to doing in a single workout and water conditions (chop and temperature).

RE: Is a 2Mile swim difficult?

Yes it is.

RE: Is a 2Mile swim difficult?

If you can go 1 mile & enjoy it, you can go 2 miles.
