I have had several Timex Ironman watches and it's always the band that fails first. They change their designs so frequently that it's impossible to find replacement bands.

I recently wrote to Timex and asked about buying replacement bands. Here is their reply:

Thank you for your inquiry. You can call us at 1-800-448-4639 to order a replacement band for your watch. The cost will be $8.00-$12.00, plus any applicable tax. Please have your watch with you when you call.

Sincerely,
LT Customer SVC

I called them about a week ago and got their automated voice mail. There is a choice for "Press x if you need to order a watchband." I pressed that choice and got instructions telling me to mail my broken band to them at a certain address with a check for $8.00. I did it the next day and am now eagerly waiting for my new band!

RE: Waterproof watch help me to choose one

I'm going to vote for the Timex Ironman watch too. I've never had any issues with mine and it's going on almost two years of daily wear - and 1.5 hours per day (except Sundays) submerged in water. No complaints from me.

RE: Waterproof watch help me to choose one

Hello guys out there i need your suggestions and advices to choose electric watch to wear at the pool a also do some diving, but i wont go down more than 4 meter. I'm planning to buy this: Amazon.com: Casio Men's PAS400B-5V Pathfinder Forester Fishing Moon Phase Watch: Casio: Watches

In product features i can see: Water-resistant to 330 feet (100 M) does this means that i can go down in water up to 100 m ?

P.s i need watch under $50 without clock-dial (i want with electric display) it would be nice if watch has timer

I have an Timex Ironman that I have used for 10 years and it still keeps ticking in the ocean and pool. You can get new watch bands from Timex distribution/repair stores in your state.

Water Resistant to 100 M should mean they are fine to that depth, but in fact it doesn't.They are fine for snorkeling, but if you plan to SCUBA I'd get a regular Divers watch.

I love my ironman (or iron woman I believe it is the female version). The only complaint I have is the piece that holds the band to the watch wears out quick. Quick being two years of constant water usage. So I would say not too bad. I have never had any issues and I love this watch. Not sure about others. I wear it in the pool all the time and even took it scuba diving once.

RE: Waterproof watch help me to choose one

Like Allen, I tried a Casio but it leaked a few weeks into use. For the past eight years I've been wearing a Timex Ironman Date Link which I like because it is programmable using software on a computer which gets downloaded to the watch via USB cable. I'm also a coach so this allows me to customize the watch for unique sets that use "difficult" intervals. It also has the best stopwatch I've ever used and can save the times back to a PC when connected via the USB cable. The only problem that I've had is they seem to be very fragile and I've had to replace them several times. I've suffered through that because the functionality can't be matched.

I also use it for masters practices but received a Poolmate (http://www.swimovate.com/) for Xmas which has a lot of nice features for lap swimming (if I could figure out exactly how to use it.) It's not very intuitive.

RE: Waterproof watch help me to choose one

I've been wearing Timex Ironman watches for years and love them.I had a Casio years ago and it leaked,so I never bought one again.I can't say if that is still a problem and I have heard some people have had the Ironman watch leak, but they have been great for me.

Quite a simple one though but pretty strong.
