Using Google to find visuals for form and technique is overwhelming.

I figured USMS forums would be a good

RE: Freestyle Technique Images and Video ?

She just cruises at my sprinting pace - like 30s 50's. A nice swim:

I had the pleasure of participating in a KPN Faster Freestyle Clinic on Feb. 15th in Chattanooga, TN. It is my belief, based on times done since then in workouts, that the style she taught is -- clearly and easily -- faster than what I was doing before.

To know for sure whether or not it is faster, I'm going to enter some freestyle events over the next couple of months, March through June. I have stable baseline times for the 50, 200 and 500. Using the old style, they have been stable, over very narrow ranges, for over a year. If I can beat them, then I'll have to conclude that the new style is faster. (Of course, that assumes I'm doing it right.)

RE: Freestyle Technique Images and Video ?

2bPvk0paWcg

Amazing, beautiful stroke & turns. Looks effortless. That's what I try to do but I'm sure I look nothing like her. Her glide is much more straight than Mr Smooth & her catch is incredibly clean. That's what I'll strive for. Thanks for posting.

RE: Freestyle Technique Images and Video ?

She seems to keep her hand propulsion far away from the center of her body and seems to be inline or outside of her shoulders.

I agree.

This drill helped me a lot. Watch KPN from 0:13 to 0:20 transition from the drill stroke to full freestyle, then compare to her stroke above.
