I have information about one called Aquanex (from swimmingtechnology.com).
Is this one a good system? Are there other alternatives for monitoring strokes?

RE: Swim Mechanics Software

Since you asked, Aquanex is available for sale on the STR website -

Aquanex+Video captures synchronized underwater video and force data to reinforce positive technique elements and clearly identify limitations.

RE: Swim Mechanics Software

Since you asked, Aquanex+Video is available for purchase on the STR website (swimmingtechnology.com) for $US 3,370. The system includes underwater camera with mounting bracket, two sensors, interface, software, and manual.

Aquanex produces a graphical display of the video synchronized with the force curves to reinforce positive technique elements and clearly identify limitations. Aquanex also instantly calculates swimming velocity, stroke rate, stroke length, peak force, average force, and the active drag coefficient (the overall best measure of technique).

RE: Swim Mechanics Software

I have two software programes a very inexpensive one that has ease of operation and very reasonably priced around $200.00 http://www.sportsmotion.com/ just checked the price it is now $350.00

Dartfish is my other programe is very good also costs for my version around $4000.00 www.dartfish.com/.../index.htm
Do you know if any of these systems also have sensors for measuring actual muscule power used by the swimmers??
Thanks.

RE: Swim Mechanics Software

Do you know any software/system for measuring and analysing swim mechanics?

There is nothing else out there that does what aquanex purports to do. Also as far as I know the aquanex system is not for sale.

I haven't seen anyone else using pressure tap based systems to analyze technique. Certainly not commercially.

RE: Swim Mechanics Software

I think Team Termin has the program and I believe he posted something about the program he used.

RE: Swim Mechanics Software

well, there's this...

According to GST website, the Swim Power Test was "developed recently to record the instantaneous velocity (V, m/s) and force (F, kg) at specific points in the stroke. Results are synchronized with video software to superimpose velocity and force curves with underwater video in real time and then recorded later into a flash-drive for easy review."

If you are interested here is a link, http://globsport.org/
We at GST test all over the world and have tested over 30 Olympians.

Thanks
