When will the results be posted? I'm curious about how I did compared to others in in my age group. I'd like to swim in some meets but not if I can't hope to compete.

I don't know when the postal results will be posted, but you can look at our "Event Rankings" to see how you compare to others in your age group for any pool event.

1) Go to www.usms.org
2) Select the blue "Competition" tab across the top
3) Select "Event Rankings"
4) Select which course you swim (Short Course Yards, for example, if you swim in a 25-yard pool)
5) Select 2009-2010 season
6) Select your gender, event, age group
7) Select the top 200 listings to see more results

RE: Swim five postals, get a nice Postal Challenge patch

I'm fairly new to USMS and swam my first postal event in January. Yes, and I hope to do it to make up for how I never got to be a patch-collecting Girl Scout because none of the mothers in my class would volunteer. We also didn't have a swim team in my school or town, so you see how I'm spending my 30's making up for lost time here...

RE: Swim five postals, get a nice Postal Challenge patch

Questions:

Yay, Danielle! Go for it!

Patch is ok but it is a lot of pain...close to 30K of pain to be exact. Did this in 2006 and 2007. Add one open water swim and you can be long distance all star for your age group if you are into that sort of thing.

I agree, there should be something more than a patch. And it is a big commitment. I hope there can be some recognition in Swimmer. Maybe "Both Sides of the Lane Line": On one side some bloviating from Jimsy/Jamie on how horrible and physiologically crippling a postal series is, on the other side a simple, dignified list of those who met the challenge and conquered their personal Everest. This should probably be followed by a meetup of Recovering Postal Swimmers ("Hi. My name is ____ and I am a Postal Challenge swimmer").

RE: Swim five postals, get a nice Postal Challenge patch

That would be some dedicated swimmer !
