I am probably too old for the Yale study (67). I have been swimming competitively since the age of 14, with some breaks, but have been serious about masters swimming for the last 25-30 years. I always had a slow heartbeat, but when it got down into the low 30s/minute and paused for 2-3 seconds at a time, the docs slammed a pacemaker in my chest. It has worked out fine, and I would be interested in the study.
