Why is any one training if there are no meets?

It would help to know if and when some one can swim in a meet. Not very many LMSCs have one designated person who does it.

If you are the Sanctions person for your LMSC, PLEASE submit each event as you sanction it. Even if you don't know all of the information (web links, for example) post as much as you can. Anyone can also submit a modification to an existing listing, so somebody (such as the meet director) can add the web links later.

If you are a meet director for an upcoming event and you don't see it in the Calendar, PLEASE submit it. Again, even if you don't have all the information now, post as much as you can and then modify it later. The sooner you get it into our calendar, the better.

Many LMSCs have their own event calendars on their web sites. But the USMS web site gets many more hits per day than any LMSC web site, so for maximum exposure make sure it's also in our Calendar of Events.

To get to the Calendar of Events:
Go to www.usms.org
Select the blue "Competition" tab across the top
Select "Calendar of Events"

RE: Schedule of Events

I was under the impression that sanctioned events would get posted automatically by USMS, but that does not appear to be the case. Does this responsibility fall to the LMSC and/or meet directors?

Eventually it will, perhaps within a year.

Right now it is up to the individual LMSC to decide whom, if anyone, is responsible for posting the events. I suspect most LMSCs don't have any formal protocol for this. Most LMSCs (mine included) maintain their own calendar of local events that would interest its members.

RE: Schedule of Events

I was under the impression that sanctioned events would get posted automatically by USMS, but that does not appear to be the case.
