I&#39;m looking for advice, maybe this is common? anyhow, when I try to do flip turns, I find I cannot breathe out my nose at all, or create any type of pressure

RE: sinus/breathing problems during flipturns

that&#39;s the problem, i&#39;ve been doing them for ages. in the last few months, i&#39;ve lost the ability to breathe through my nose in the water, and i can&#39;t keep enough pressure in there to keep water from pushing into my sinuses and creating all sorts of mayhem. From what i&#39;ve been reading, it seems like i&#39;ve developed a sensitivity to the chlorine, but I was hoping for non-noseclip relief from it.

Perhaps using a neti pot to clear your blockage could help?

I *love* my neti pot.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: sinus/breathing problems during flipturns

If you are just learning how to do flipturns, break it up into several steps.
Get comfortable to doing bobs and blowing bubbles underwater first.
Then try doing handstands and somersaults in water deep enough where you won&#39;t bump your head.
Finally work on the full flipturn.
If you have too many new skills to work on at the same time, you may have too many things to concentrate on.
