I cut out running this week to just swim each day. Anyone have any good ideas what I should do if I can't swim. My apologies for any confusion. Americans refer to aluminium as tin foil.
Here's a sample lightning protection/attraction hat:en.wikipedia.org/.../File:Tin_foil_hat_3.png

RE: Taper during thunder season

Yeah, I could use the 20yarder here...85 degrees though...

Eh... that'll be fine for the 1000m you describe. For taper i'd try to stick to the water unless it's 100% not possible.

Just warm up like 600-800 and then do a couple buildup 40's, and some starts and turns :)

RE: Taper during thunder season

Not to bring up an ugly subject - but what about morning swims?
I could go at 5:30 but that's so early for a mere 1000m.

There's always local bodies of water ;)

Is there no where else to swim at another time during the day?
Yeah, I could use the 20yarder here...85 degrees though...

If the thunder gets really bad, you should try a few wind sprints in an open field...with a turban made out of aluminum foil.
If you can outrun the lightning strikes, you should be in tip top shape for beating Fort in 50 meters of froggy stroke.

Just be sure to carry some ID with you. Safety first.

Rest is good but I don't want to feel like I've shut-down by Saturday...especially if I am going to try to whomp Fortress in the 50 BR.

You must have missed this sentence in the Wikipedia entry:
"Davy settled on aluminum by the time he published his 1812 book Chemical Philosophy"

RE: Taper during thunder season

Yeah, I could use the 20yarder here...85 degrees though...

That could be good for you... a longer warmup with a few fast and pace 20's and 40s would make for some good fast taper swims.

RE: Taper during thunder season

OK I'm trying to finish taper this week and it looks like thunder all week long in the evenings. With a broken AC, I feel like I've been living in a volcano and melting like the wicked witch of the west.

I doubt Stud has too much to worry about in our standing 50 evil gridge without my super suit. Unlike super fly Roddin, who was amazing in PR, I am quite sure I will be going slower (especially in evil). My main preoccupation is not getting deeked again. :D

RE: Taper during thunder season

Man up, Sally.
