I can't attach the PDF, because it's too large, but there is a great article on stretching in the January/February issue of Swimmer Magazine. Go to the USMS home page and click on Swimmer Magazine. Then, search the "Back Issues" for that issue. A PDF of the article is available for you to save to your computer. Those stretches have helped me tremendously and I have had previous major shoulder surgery.

Now I tend to be turned off by that kind of stuff, and to each their own, but I found a class that was not so "spiritual" and more about the movements and exercise. i still chuckle a bit when we do "ohms", but I can now put my palms on the floor without bending my knees.

RE: Shoulder Flexibility

Sorry..............under patient resources click "handouts" and you will find shoulder/neck information, some good foam roller info, and go to the bottom of the home page for a good article on gluteal activation (commonly overlooked but totally core strength). :agree:

RE: Shoulder Flexibility

hi Moody!
I attended a free shoulder workshop at North Beach Pool in St. Pete following a swim meet. Type this link in your browser (in case I can't get it to work) and you will find some good shoulder stretches as well as some great core strength and hip stuff. www.tricoretherapy.com

The speaker, Dr. Matt Fontaine was a great resource of ideas for swimmer's (tri's too) who want to stay healthy and get stronger!

RE: Shoulder Flexibility

Here's the direct link:
