here's how I split the 200 IM at the Austin

RE: LCM / 2010 approved Tech Suits vs Full Body Rubber Suits

Ande,
Why did you swim faster in the "slower" suit?
or how did I swim faster in a slower suit.

I started the 2010 LCM season in a pretty good place,
just won the 200 IM at Nats

only took off a day after nats

made up my mind to lose weight
went from 225ish to 210 ish

put in a solid month of training (did 10 doubles in june 2010)

swam the race fresh and was determined to get after it
took the race out faster than I did last year

I stopped lifting weights in june to focus on swimming and weight loss

Swam the exact same time as with a TYR Tracer Rise. I will say the last 15 meters hurt a bit more...

I did drop .4 in my 50 free wearing the jammer. I was pretty happy with that. ;-)

RE: LCM / 2010 approved Tech Suits vs Full Body Rubber Suits

Yep, a suit won't save a season. It does make sense to race in a fast affordable suit but preparing for your races is what is most critical.
Full body suits are faster than jammers.
It is possible to improve times you did in a full body, it's just a lot of work.
How bad do you want to be good?

I'm not completely sure you're getting the point of this thread...maybe I'm wrong...

RE: LCM / 2010 approved Tech Suits vs Full Body Rubber Suits

My LCM plan was to
1) get in way better shape by training harder faster and further more times a week
2) lose weight,
3) focus on a few events &
4) improve my kick

What's yours?

I had basically the same plan, but:

1) Got involved in a big work project and have missed a lot of workout
2) Spent 10 days in Germany and swam once in a hotel pool (4 strokes per length)
3) One week before zones and I feel slow and sluggish

So I think I will use my D & J bargain rack speedo brief at zones.

RE: LCM / 2010 approved Tech Suits vs Full Body Rubber Suits

Good swim !
