Aloha! My name is Denny and I just joined the forum. Live in the Chattanooga area and swim in the TN river. Swam last week and water was 70 degrees. Here's local weather and river flow. I'll be there on Saturday, driving you nuts from the Pot House to the starting point. That will be my extent of open water swimming.

Hey everybody! My name is Denny and I just got on this forum. I live near TN and have been swimming in the TN river all summer. We swam in the river this morning and the temp got up to 70. By the time we put the thermometer in the water we did not want to wait around too long to see what the temp was going to get up to, so when it hit 70 we all just jumped in and started swimming. Not sure what the temp will be on race day, but it is supposed to heat up (air temp) this week, so hopefully it will be tolerable. Wookie, it's good to see you causing problems as usual.

Now, what program am I supposed to be getting with here? The fact that only two forumites (you and Wookiee) have expressed a dislike for my choice of font and color isn't a big deal to me; especially since more than two forumites have sent me PMs complimenting me on both the appearance and content my posts. You and Wookiee are not a big deal to me, Geek. You both have been rude to me and have passed judgement based on very trivial criteria. Well at least I'll have some company. I think we were around the same time in Vermont. They ran out of burgers as I was in line after finish. Hopefully we'll get back before the food is gone. As long as I am given a choice of font an color, I plan on sticking with this, because I like it, as do some of the other forumites who have sent me PMs supporting my use of a little individuality. If you don't it, then take it up with USMS to have font and color choices removed from the forums.

OK, be cranky. I don't "try" to read my own posts; I DO read them. I proofread my own posts and blue is soothing to MY eyes; it's the color of water, afterall. All I am saying is that it's too bad you let something like this make you so cranky. Life is too short to feel annoyed by the little things... You don't know me well enough to decide if I am cranky. Expressing my dislike for your font/color because it is annoying to the eyes, doesn't make one cranky.

I'll be there. Looking forward to visiting the area, sleeping on a retired river steamboat, swimming the "Suck", eating and drinking in the Pot House and meeting a Wookiee. It looks like a few of us are signed up for LRLH in NYC next Saturday. Say hello. I encourage any slower swimmers to sign up so I can have some company in the back of the pack. Fear not! I've even received compliments from some of the forumites about it! If this annoys you, I would hate to think what it must be like to live with you. :afraid: Cheer up, Wookiee; there are more important things in life to get annoyed at besides the appearance of my posts.
