I definitely agree. Best way to respect intellectual property in this case is to make your own material and display *that* to your attendees.

I did over simplify but it is definitely not copyright infringement if you watch a video with a few people in a private setting like a house and no admission is charged. Could be one though if you watch a video designed to support seminars, in the context of a seminar held parallel to the TI organization. But I may be wrong....

You can show others the books or DVDs. It is only copyright infringement if you make copies.

It is NOT only an infringement if you make copies. Copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner. Displaying it to a group is an infringing activity of the public display type. Handing around a single copy within a group for their own viewing is likely permissible.

Find me one single drill out of this material that did not exist before and I'd say well, it ain't a bad thing to ask yourself this question before using this material. But I really doubt that you manage to find even 1. So you can demonstrate these drills and record yourself doing them etc.... That said, you're probably not allowed to use what is protected by valid copyrights. Physical reproductions (in part or in total) of the books, their video clips and stuff. That you're probably not allowed. And I believe that a body that sells seminars would not appreciate. Whether you're being paid or not. For two reasons. 1) they probably want to control quality of how this work is being used (branding issue) and 2) they don't want their coaches, who paid to get certified, to send emails saying "hey what the heck, there's a guy giving away free seminars using our material. That got me to loose a few inscriptions..." (franchisee issue). Drop a PM to Terry. A few years back he used to contribute here. He may still have an account.
