I have a question about the suits. I bought a non-zipper knee skin Aquapel this weekend after my Fusion started to rip at Nationals. It's not on the list but it's an older tech suit. Is it legal? I swim in USA meets as well. What do I wear there? Good news!! My Aquapel kneeskin made it through the USA-S meet. My coach said it was okay and no officials stopped me. Good deal for $30 and in a suit I love to wear.

A funny thing about the red face - I train regularly with someone for whom the red starts in the face and works all the way down his torso. So our coach can simply look at said swimmer and see how hard he is working. A fellow teammate and doc was with me at nats watching this teammate in his 200 *** and after the first 50 his face was scarlet, after the next 50 the red was tinged with blue and down to just below his shoulders, and the 3rd fifty he got bluer (color likely descended but he was wearing a B70, so hard to say). Teammate who was a doc was alarmed at his color, as he had not seen many folks that color *alive* and not in serious difficulty. I was clear that this was a max effort swim and that he was hurting but going to be fine, and the doc knows and trusts me but was still quite concerned.... We had a good laugh about it later, but it was interesting. Know thy teammates :chug: Long ago I emerged from a 1000 freestyle with much of my torso purple (see Fig. A). So I decided to stop wearing a cap in distance races. Not worth trapping all that heat in. I don't think I've had a purple torso since then. A. :bolt:

I train in a pool that is too warm. When I do aerobic sets, overheating is a given. Even with long rest during anaerobic fly sets, my face remains somewhere in the red-to-purple part of the spectrum. (Funny contrast when I'm purple and some noodler climbing in acts like the water is cold. IT'S WARM, NOODLER!) So I'm used to warm water and T-Hills didn't bother me. D - Barely awake and saving all I had left for the 200 back. It wasn't much, but between the warm pool water and the warm air, I was having a hard time not snoozing. Really. Citizens! Today, new advances were made in gridge technology. After saying that he missed the deadline, JimRude really was entered in the meet, but didn't show up. And there was a major gridge brewing in the 200 IM: swimmj, Allen Stark, and I were all seeded in the same heat. Whenever you've got 3+ forumites in one heat, you know it's going to be good. But then swimmj and Allen both scratched that event. I'm not sure what to make of all this, so I ask the following: What is this kind of gridging called? A) Faux Show B) Blue Flu C) Invisibility Cloak D) Other (please specify) D - Barely awake and saving all I had left for the 200 back. D)Saving it for the relay.As I previously noted on this thread I said I'd scratch the IM if I had a relay.By the way That Guy was smoking in the 200 fly-2:26 early in the season,unshaved:cheerleader::cheerleader: Thanks Allen! I was happy with the result. Even better, I know exactly what I can do in training to improve. Even bettererer, it's not very different from what I've been doing. :)

I think you'll be fine in any Masters meet with that suit. I really don't know about USAS as I don't compete in those meets, and haven't even attended one since the suit rules change. I happen to have a tank age group team Speedo suit that should be legal. But it um.. makes things stick out in places that I don't like. Oh well. I'll find out in 2 weeks when I do my first post-ban age group meet.

I'd definitely be interested! make sure to check that they have the 2010 approved stamp. alot of kids over here bought suits they thought were 2010 approved because of the list, but wound up getting older versions of the suits that don't have the stamp. ok for local meets, but not so good for our national meets. I'm not sure how USMS will look at suits but I had a FS Pro jammer from the US, and still felt compelled to buy something with a stamp on the ass. I would hate to be standing behind the blocks for a race and have the officials pull me over to the side to check the tag of my suit (which I just happened to remove the day i got it because it itched too much). it would through off my pre-race routine.

I plan to be at the t-hills meet swimming off events for the checkoff challenge. The 800 free if I got my entry in in time, the 200 back and 50 back. I'll look for you there but can't really commit to a gridge in anything. No clue what times I'll do, just plan to finish them and not drown. I'll be at the meet.I am entered in the 50 BR,200IM and 400 IM.The only one I am swimming for sure is the 400 IM as it is the last event and I haven't done one in a while and want a time.I am more interested in relays so what i swim depends on relay possibilities. I just found out we missed the entry deadline while in Atlanta.:bitching:

Speaking of suits. Someone posted a link in another thread about suits for the upcoming LCM season and I saw FSPro Jammers for $49. If I understand the rules, those should be legal right? Does anyone know for sure?

OK so now that the SCY season is over and the tech suits got their Viking funeral, it is time to embrace the metric system and wear FINA-barcoded swimsuits! :bliss: Is anyone else going to the Tualatin Hills meet? I will be driving down and back the same day. www.swimoregon.org/.../10THBentry.pdf I entered the 100 fly, 50 *** (lulz), 200 IM, 50 fly, and 200 fly. Any gridges out there? Is Allen going to lap me in the 50 LCM breaststroke??? :anim_coffee: Shannon and I will both swim the meet. Lots of events in a single day, usually a fairly pedestrian meet - with the exception of Dave Radcliff. The Gil Young meet in early August at Mt Hood will be a nice alternative to Puerto Rico.
