LCM & SCM are approaching which suit are you going to wear? Ande LCM already started for me. I would have done a meet in January in NJ if I had the qualifying times. :( Maybe next year! briefs for inseason meets and Tracer Jammer for focus meets. I love the comfort of just wearing the briefs/non Tracer Jammers.

We've got just 2 more months with full body suits. After May 31st for SCY & right now for LCM & SCM, we need to figure out which suits to wear in competition? What suit/s are you going to wear? 2010 Approved Womens Tech Suits 2010 Approved Mens Tech Suits What meets are you going enter? Brief from the bargain rack at D & J Sports. $15 It will be nice not trying to squeeze into the B70 Nero that really pulls down on my shoulders.

Until I hear/see a groundswell of opinion that the new tech suit material in jammers for men "matters," I'll probably be sticking with Endurance-like jammers for in-season meets and an Aquablade for any taper meets. I just can see the ROI on a $200 jammer. This summer should be the first time I get to race in most events in LCM, though I'm not sure I'll get a true taper meet in. I'll aim to swim each event once over these four meets and then see if I can find a meet in July that meshes with my kids & vacation schedule: Memorial Day weekend: Cactus Classic (USAS): probably swim the 1500, one of the 400 free or 400 IM, maybe some other things June 5th: Mesa Masters meet June 10th/11th: (Hopefully) Southwest Classic (Tucson, dual USAS-USMS) June 27th: Flagstaff Masters meet -- see how painful it is to sprint at altitude Sweden & Puerto Rico, as much as I'd like to be at either or both, conflict with kids/family commitments. I'm with PW...I don't think a "compression" jammer will do much for you. I'll be swimming in our $27 team jammers or briefs.

No comment, though, my 14yr old daughter seems to be getting a fair number of swims out of an older school TYR Tracer Light Aeroback Short John -- she'll probably get about 15, maybe 20 swims in it over 2 championship meets and some selected other swims, mostly distance stuff. That suit was about $170 pre-tax. I think you're absolutely right, though, that these newer suits will last nowhere near as long as B70s. Were men able to compete in body+kneeskins, I'd consider the newer suits. I happily paid for a full body B70 back in 2008 at prevailing retail prices. I just don't think there's enough material in jammers to warrant too much $$ outlay. Am I the only one who has seen the new female kneeskins (Speedo and Tyr) stretch out completely after one (2-3 day) meet? I got over 30 swims with my B70.

I noticed Finis has a jammer for around $60 that sounds somewhat "FS Pro-like" based on the description. www.swimoutlet.com/.../5926.htm edit: well, gee, now that I look at the swimoutlet site every single size is out of stock and it says "discontinued," so I guess the Hydrospeed might not be an option anymore...

I'm betting there IS a difference between my poly endurance and the $370 June 1 legal knee skin. It's called my sanity.

This is my daughter's first 'tech suit' and it still appears tight and to be holding up well and she's not complaining. Even if it lasts as long as the new ones for you, it's half the price. YMMV.

Maybe this should be an "Ask Ande",but I'm asking here-since I am sure the NCAA swimmers have tested the suits,is there any real difference between the $50 jammers vs the $260 jammers?
