You know, first there was the plunge, now this...no wonder Jeff is kicking up his training a notch. :) Ha! Thanks! I was SO nervous that someone would sneak in there. SO happy they are final now! Jeff knows he's not the only All American/National Champ in the house now, but he does still challenge me to silly games like shuffleboard, ping pong, pool, basketball, etc. to make sure that I don't let all this go to my head. And my plunger is STILL on the mantel. Where it should be.

SCY uses your age on the first day of the meet, everything else is your age on the last day of the year.

I can check on this, but I am virtually positive that such mistakes by MDs are caught by Mary Beth during the Top Ten vetting process, by using the actual birth date. Or sometimes it is caught earlier, by the Top Ten recorder before submission to Mary Beth. That doesn't mean the meet results won't have it wrong, but hopefully it is corrected before TT publication. I know I should know this, but what are the age rules for USMS and FINA? (Thinking ahead to 2012 when I age up!)

People should do a quick double-check on their listed age at meets, though. Every now and then, meet directors will enter the age listed on your USMS card rather than your actual age. I just checked the list and noticed that it has my age listed incorrectly (57 not 58). And I was not just 58 "according to FINA" but really was 58 when I did my swims. I also noticed other swimmers similarly given an incorrect (year younger) age. Did anyone else notice this? G Shaw Greg, I'm glad that your info turned out to be correct! For example, I have a Dec birthday, but often renew my USMS membership in Nov for the next year. The age listed on my card is as of time of renewal, but my age for all meets is either plus one (for SCY) or plus two (for LCM/SCM). Usually is not an issue (and certainly not for me, since I rarely make a Top Ten list!!) but something to keep an eye on. Congrats to everyone who DID make Top Ten! :)

I quite enjoyed seeing my Nadadores Club on the page :) Went ahead and added the relays to the scoring; relays counted for double points. I think you'll be happy...you guys had a lot of relays. Fourth best club in SCM (and 2nd best "local" club, after WCM); nice!

Maybe some day I'll include relays; the hassle isn't computing the scoring (that takes minutes), it is downloading the information. Maybe I can work with Jim M to get it all in one chunk, rather than eight separate chunks (ie, by zone) and cutting & pasting. It still doesn't take long, though; maybe 30 minutes total for one course. There are, of course, many more than 20 clubs. At some point I'll upload a file that has all the club scores; I'll do that soon, maybe tonight or tomorrow morning.

Think thats impressive, look at Alex Kostich in 35-39 in the distance frees! :afraid: Yes, I'm well aware! He's 15 seconds ahead of me in the 400 free. His 800 and 1500 are both very impressive. Both are new world records unless someone somewhere else in the world went faster in 2009.

Is there a specific place where they post ranking beyond (after) top 10? I would love to know how close I was in terms of people ahead of me...some of my times are close... www.usms.org/.../toptimes.php Unfortunately that's not quite right; "Current Top Times" (also called "Current Event Rankings" or "Meet Results Database") is not the same set of times as the TT, though they are close. The results in the meet result database are not fully validated, so there can be some erroneous times included. Also, not every meet is submitted to the database and so there are also missing times. But the convergence is closer now than it used to be. There are fewer invalid results, anyway. But it is hard to force people (meet directors, TT recorders) to submit every single meet to the meet results database, though (hopefully) all are eventually submitted to TT by one of the three deadlines. At some point, what you are describing will happen. But not soon (ie, within the next few months).

he might have been gunning for all star he did it one other time www.usms.org/.../02RA9 Yes, he certainly did. So, congrats on another great year. I'm very impressed with all the times swum in 2009. Yes, a lot of people seemingly came out of hiding because of the suits, but still, the competition was fierce last year in every age group.
