Jesse Vassallo's 15:31 1500 M free in 1976 as a 14 year old is super impressive swim & has stood the test of time even against talented swimmers in tech suits. Ian Crocker's 1:53.87 200 fr got beat last year, Cannon Clifton almost got it but went out too hard & died. think he split it 25 27 29 31 in 1984, Chas Morton from Nashville was a super impressive 12 year old he still holds the 11 - 12 SCY records for the: 100 fly 51.85, next time in 53.47 & 200 IM 1:56.61 closest is 1:59.74 good to see Mary Meagher still has the 13 - 14 200 fly records 1 2:07.01 1979 US UN 2 2:10.03 Lauren Torpey 1997 LE LESD 3 2:11.04 Whitney Phelps 1994 US UN is #3 Michael's Phelps sister? kathleen hersey nipped Mary T's 17 18 200 fly record 1 2:06.96 sf Kathleen Hersey 2008 GA UN 2 2:07.14 Mary Meagher 1982 US UN looks like tracey caulkins still has some top 10's Wow- this is great. Thanks for the link, Ande. Bobby Hackett's 8:01.54 800 free LC WR from 1976 when he was 16 should have made the list. And a piece of cool trivia about this record- at the Olympic trials while qualifying for the 1500! Still number one from the 70's- as a 14 yr old, Jesse Vassallo's 15:31 1500 12 yr old boys swimming 22's for a 50 free- wow! Missy Franklin- 48 for a 100 free at 13?!... does she have a contract with Speedo, yet?

Tom Jaeger and Troy Dalbey going 43 low SCY 100 free in 1987, Robin Leamy 43.6 in 1980 and Andy Coan 43.8 in 1977(!). Lunk 54.0 SCY 100 *** in 1979. Gold Medal Mel 1:41 SCY 200 fly in 1987. Dave Wharton 3:42 SCY 400 IM in 1988. Not to mention the times from Caulkins, Linehan, Woodhead et al. All paper suits - no tech. Kinda puts things in perspective. :applaud:

Actually many of these would not have even been in paper suits or even lycra but good old fashioned NYLON! Nope,it's been lycra et al since 1974.

That is quite a list of superstars from over the years. I'm not QUITE up to par for that list, but I noticed some Olympians I swam with that aren't on it either so...
