Thanks Mswimming! I was right there next to Coach Mark amongst the Nadadores so that was probably me you saw. It was definitely the side of the pool to be on Saturday! I felt bad for all the timers, they had no shade at all during the meet. Say hi next time so I can put a face with the name!

Nice pictures and congratulations on the strong butterfly, Rob. I'm pretty sure I sat behind you during the meet. That had to be the best seat in the house. Good view of the competition section of the pool and plenty of shade!

was the ringer matt mcginnis? if so he's got great laurels to rest upon how'd your 800 go? what else you swim? those are some fast swims got a link to meet results page? Ande Good meet -- the biggest problem was to protect yourself from getting sunburned :applaud: Rich - our relay was a Men's 120+ ... we brought in a "ringer" who just graduated last year from Texas -- 1:32.9 for the free relay -- he split a 22.0 - the rest was all sub 24s - I actually did not swim, since I went after the 800. One of our guys has been injured - if we get him back, we may be able to break 1:30 at Long Beach .... Some crazy fast swims by the 30-34 "kids"- 50 Back 24.8 100 Back 52.8 I think 100 IM 56+ 100 Free 50.1 200 Free 1:49.4

Looks like it will be a fun meet -- already 140 swimmers signed up, not including deck entries. Weather expected around 80 degrees :applaud: I am putting together a monster 200 Free relay to start things FAST !!! Erik, What age group? Men or mixed? Watch out for some smoking fast 160+ mixed relays from the Ron Johnson meet for Colorado. Even though our ages add up to 178 having Sheri Hart and Susan Von der Lippe sure will help. Our second guy is 34 years old and goes around a 23/52 for the 50/100 fly (SCY) Rich

The idea of swimming in a nice new pool sounds fun, so I just entered. 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100IM. I don't expect to swim well, but my main goal is to relax, have fun and not stress about feeling out of place.

Although my wife is a former Bruin swimmer, I will never swim at that pool, since the cutting of men's swimming was, to me, an unforgivable sin...:2cents: The emotion is understandable, but this is Masters swimming, having nothing to do with NCAA sports at the university. If you miss the meet for the wrong reason, your actions are pointless.

Where is the Spieker Aquatics Center in relation to the old Rec Center? (I was a lifeguard there in the mid-70s.) Skip
