Almost all events are on tape delay. When there is a false start, why do they need to show us the five minutes, or more, of primping and flexing after the false start and before the next start attempt?

Yeah now that you mention it, what's with that?

Another thing I've noticed in track meets: the women's sprint events have FAR fewer false starts than the men's do. And in anything past the 400, there's almost NEVER a false start.

I admit to a swimming false start in a masters' meet. Just before the buzzer, I heard a splash and thinking I'd missed the buzzer, I took my dive... I wasn't DQ'ed, but getting back up onto the block wasted so much of my energy that I'm especially careful now to hold my position until the buzzer sounds.

RE: False starts

YEAH ! I'm sure they could show field events more. By the way, RANT,put a shot clock on base ball pitchers !! Interesting. That should make reaction times a bit slower and make Bolt's record's even tougher.
