Blog Talk is a thread to recoginize, discuss, share, stuff happening in the USMS blogs, here on the general forums. Please point out certain sets, certain swims, &amp; meet performances. Rather than have the blogs languish in obscurity.

It goes without saying I would like to see El Gigante&#39;s logs. I would think that folks would be interested in any elite masters&#39; training logs from their youths- especially those who are successful in one&#39;s hallowed events.

Find someone who is good at your favorite event (or one you would like to improve in), and ask questions. Take advantage of the talent here. Many have blogs you can follow and &quot;steal&quot; tips or sets from. It&#39;s interactive. Check you the blog list here to find one you like to follow:

Brundage

Well, I use the flog as well as an old-school paper log. I did paper logs of my workouts through high school. When I get a Mac in college (no hard drive!), I switched to putting my workouts on disk. I really wish I had somehow maintained and transferred those college workouts into new technology over the years, but they are lost forever. I blog today for the same reasons I&#39;ve always written down workouts -- my memory sucks and I want to go back and learn from what I did.

Later this summer, I plan to scare myself and pull some of my teenaged workout logs out of storage and see ...

I get to congratulate myself on hard work done, flagellate myself on crappy workouts, and sympathize with myself when I am demoralized and lonely. I am always shocked when someone reads my blog &amp; makes a comment - I wish I was funny like Vlog the Inhaler, but alas, I do not have that creative streak! I also am not a formidable competitor - fraid I never really was, so it&#39;s hard to imagine my comments inspiring others. I think I just like to get my words on &quot;paper&quot; &amp; I hope that in a year or so, I can look back &amp; see that I am keeping faster intervals than I was when I started. I&#39;ve certainly made some changes in the few months since my baby went off to college (sob!) such as putting myself into the pool much more frequently, and signing up for 500 miles on the stupid GTD (what WAS I thinking?), and last but not least, committing to myself at least, and joining the local USAS team to have someone push me during my practices. I feel less lonely when I read the blogs and the forum comments - because I feel like you guys are my friends even though we&#39;ve never even met!! How I wish I had a masters team with friends to trash talk with &amp; go to meets with! You guys will have to suffice. :agree:<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Blog Talk

Lack of readership shouldn&#39;t discourage anyone from blogging. My blog is by far the most boring in the lot. Gracias. I don&#39;t blog anymore because I don&#39;t think anyone was reading it (everyone probably bought into Fort&#39;s &quot;evil stroke&quot; comments, or more likely it was too boring). And I support backstrokers. Your &quot;simple&quot; but challenging sets are right on the mark.

Well, I use the flog as well as an old-school paper log. Blogging takes time, and if no one&#39;s interested, then, for me, it&#39;s not worth it... While I use the FLOG for my actual workouts and times, I then blog about my thoughts during the workout and mention some highlights of the practice. I have no idea if anyone is that interested in how much stuff some guy brings to the pool with him, or the strange looks I get from those skinny-minny gym rats, but hey it gets it out of my system and stops me boring my husband about it all!
