I have a brand new, still has tags attached, full-body nero that was purchased before Arpil 1st. I was saving it for a big meet, than with all the hullabaloo I just kept wearing older suits while awaiting a decision. Any way for people in my position to get in on the buy-back program?

Dear all, Yes we have been a little slack with the wbesite information. No excuses, just reasons...Sorry.

We want to publish the final dates for the rebate period as this will be time managed throughout January, but right now we are awaiting the confirmation from the 300 suits submitted to FINA for testing in March. Our thoughts are that we need to get a handle on the exepcted approval time frame for the next testing round in November, where the stage two tests come in to play, including:

1) Increased buoyacney testing
2) Permeability testing (Numbers still to be defined)

The buy back is as simple as it reads, no hidden secrets, no hidden rules. We are going to limit the time period for submitting your old suit..and this we feel is fair to give us a heavy focus period where we can ramp production up and ensure we have god stocks at the start of the season where the FINA suits must be approved (From Jan 1st for any competition). Then for the rest of the year we are clear to provide the dealers with the very best service we can after we have satified all those with 09 uncompliant suits should they be so.

I know there are those cynical of what we are trying to achieve, but we feel something is better than burying ones head in the sand and expecting your loyal consumer to &quot;Suck it up&quot; please do not hate us for that.

The expected price for the new suit is somewhat of an unknown when the rules are still to be finalised and defined. As soon as these are, then we will be able to figure the pricing. But we do not expect to be more than 15% over where we are right now.

Thank you for your time all of you, and as ever i will do my best to answer your questions and service the USMS and all our customers in the manner we feel you deserve...the best we possibly can.

Yours

Deano

Further, the B70 website does not mention the buy back program (but they could be behind in updating their site).

IMHO, Ande&#39;s post implies B70&#39;s buyback program indicates B70 failed the FINA test and they are preparing for the blowback. (again - my opinion).

Or this message indicates that B70 is confident that the B70 Nero will be approved by FINA in January 2010. And the buy back offer is a marketing push to encourage customers to buy now when their confidence is low.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: blueseventy Announces Swimskin Buy Back Program

Guess they&#39;ve got a guilty conscience over all the price gouging they&#39;ve been doing.

I wonder if Speedo will offer a buy back program for all the consumers who got ripped on the $450 LZR.

BTW, I know Ande and he is a pretty honest person, but internet hoaxes abound and the timing seems just about right (Spring Nationals coming up).

It&#39;s not a hoax. I have talked to a swim shop near me that sells B70&#39;s. They have told me the same story. They deal directly with Roque, so it is a legit offer.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: blueseventy Announces Swimskin Buy Back Program

Hmmm...nice program. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

blueseventy Announces Swimskin Buy Back Program

Seattle, WA, — April 30, 2009 — blueseventy announces the Swimskin Buy Back Program to help consumers in light of the new regulations detailed in FINA’s Dubai Charter. The blueseventy Swimskin Buy Back Program is the first of its kind in the industry and is designed to help individual consumers and college athletic programs make the transition to a suit that doesn’t float with ease while lessening the financial impact to buy a FINA compliant swimskin in 2010, but still taking a large chunk of change from their pocketbooks!

blueseventy swimskins always have been and always will be FINA compliant—since there weren’t really good rules to limit buoyant suit before. As a company, blueseventy is fully supportive of the effort made by FINA to regulate the negative effects of buoyancy technology in the sport The blueseventy Buy Back Program will help consumers buy a new swimskin, when the changes go into effect January 1, 2010.

The buy back program is easy:

Buy a blueseventy “Nero” swimskin, tight or jammer after April 1, 2009—pay us lots of cash!
Enjoy the new found potential of your swimming until December 31, 2009—then look back on the easy speed you floated to the wall with!
Bring your eligible blueseventy product and receipt to a participating dealer in January 2010 and receive a reduction in the retail of your new “Like for Like” Nero product. Rebate amounts vary dependent on product—thus proving there was something fishy about your times in the old suit!
Nero Comp Fullsuit $200 rebate—here you go…but we’ll take another wad of benjys from ya for the new gear!
Nero Comp Kneeskin $160 rebate –remember this is only part exchange!
Nero 10k Fullsuit $160 rebate –hey our CEO has to eat too!
Nero Legskin (Tight) $110 rebate—Seriously, why do men wear tights?

“We are delighted to be able give something back to the competitive swimmer who we believe right now is caught in the changes taking place and meawhile help them perpetuate a sport of haves and have nots, while they obliterate yesteryears true swim records and deny that the suit has any part in it!”

“For us it is about servicing the swimmer and delivering a program that offers value in a world where the changes are beyond their control, yet they have to meet the consequence, of a small nod towards some sense of sanity in the sport”

“We could not have offered this without the support of our dealers and we thank them for working with us in keeping the category alive throughout the rest of 2009 and offering value into 2010.”<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: blueseventy Announces Swimskin Buy Back Program

As of May 2 this morning, there is nothing new on the FINA site about the swimskin test results.
