I have a few questions about the Blue Seventy Nero Male Comp skins (Knee/Long Leg).

I have heard of significant time drops being done in Blue Seventy's, and I'm trying to get my US Open cuts in the 1500 M and in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle

RE: Blue Seventy Nero Questions

Get the full leg length B70. Historically, I was a pure distance guy (my college events @ UT-Austin were 500, 1000, 1650 and 400 IM) and only swam in jammers as a Masters swimmer. I switched to a B70 full length last fall and my first event was the 800M. I've since used it in every event I try to swim fast in, including a 1650 recently. While I like it for all races, I do believe it's an even sweeter suit the longer the race.

As to the difference between the knee length and full leg length, I find that the knee length "cuts" into my quads in a way I don't like. That might be just me.

With all of this talk about tech suits, though, remember that their impact is still nowhere near the impact you get from training!
Good point.
Yeah, I'm not counting on a suit to get my Open cuts, so I've been hitting the training harder than ever. Blue Seventy is just like the cherry on top.

RE: Blue Seventy Nero Questions

Glad you mentioned how the shorter length cuts into your quads. I find that the traditional jammers (used in practice) do the same thing to me. Usually I just practice in the speedo brief style most of the time. So I guess if I end up getting a technical suit it will be the full length kind. Thanks to all of you for your imput.

RE: Blue Seventy Nero Questions

Yeah. I guess it's just personal preference. I mean, how much difference can fabric from knee to 3/4 of the way down your leg make?

Yeah, I would too. But I saw a guy go a 9:24 in the 1000 yard free just 2 weekends ago in a kneeskin. He dropped 34 seconds.

RE: Blue Seventy Nero Questions

You could bulk up. Naw, that'd take too long.

Keep looking - it's out there.
Haha, Yeah. I'm hoping to have it before my state meet in 2 and a half weeks. I'm going for a 4:30 in the 500. Do you prefer kneeskin or bodyskin? Because I found a kneeskin 26.

RE: Blue Seventy Nero Questions

No, you're a definite 26.

I just measured my chest and waist.
I have a 37.5 chest and a 30 waist.
Would that change me to a 28?

Also, does anyone know where to get a 26? They seem to be really tough to find...

RE: Blue Seventy Nero Questions

As for sizing, I am 5'11" and weigh 150 (I know, I look bigger than that in my picture).
A 26 fits perfectly.
You might also want to check out the other Blue Seventy threads.

RE: Blue Seventy Nero Questions

i agree

I suggested the full body B70 would be more beneficial in longer races on the "Fun and Fast" thread, and the physicists jumped all over me. However, I know others who think this is true. I've certainly heard of elite swimmers wearing their B70s and even LZRs in OW races as well.

RE: Blue Seventy Nero Questions

I would think a full suit will give you more in the distance events.
