False starts were a very important strategy that I have used several times. In the old days we were allowed two.

Another false start video. I guess this guy was just very excited. www.youtube.com/watch Haha, oh my god. I just saw this video. This is friggin hilarious. Not only does he false start, but apparently he is extremely enraged and in disbelief about this call. Also, note that although this is breaststroke, they're all doing some weird form of front crawl/breaststroke. I won by 10 meters! Ten meters!

They would not have anything but Experts there???:rofl::rofl::rofl: First of all, I apologize for bringing up an older thread, but I had to share this with you all! I am active in a couple of other forums, and rec'd a recent comment on the video that I posted here (www.youtube.com/watch ). The comment said (and mind you this gentleman was serious) "Actually I think it's good advice. I'm a coach and always tell my swimmers to keep their shoulders still when swimming freestyle. It's always best to keep sideways movement to a minimum in the water. You won't see a ship rolling from side to side. Ever wonder why?" I look forward to what you all have to say to this one!!

Hardly walk? OMG...that's a new one: Swimming causes kids to be unable to walk. :eek: I mean, seriously people! I guess it takes all kinds in the internet world. I don't know who this guy is but wow...:rofl: Yeah...I just hope that nobody actually pays this person to coach!!

errrr..Ships don't have arms. This seems so nuts I just wonder if people are saying these things as a joke. Ha...s/he seemed serious since this was another comment in there, "You are right Richie, swimming weakens the ankles. I suggest you seriously consider whether swimming is the sport for you. Some kids at my club can hardly walk now. They have been swimming competitively for 8 or 9 years."

It used to make everyone stay still no guessing no anticipation of the gun. Once you had two false starts up next person would be DQ'd. I did this when I beat Scholes in the 100. He cursed at me, I upset him a little. That is actually really good strategy!! I like it!

Oh, right. Well, I don't think this is the worst, but it certainly is pointless. It's called "How to Swim the Freestyle Stroke". I think when most people read freestyle, they think front crawl, not otter style. Oh my Good Lord! That, absolutely, was the most boring and pointless video that I have seen in a long time! Ha!
