Something like double capping but not as tight around the head. Put the goggles on over the caps.

I wear a bubble cap over a swim band and its very dry never slips my hair is medium lenght . The bubble caps in size large are the biggest caps and are good for swimmers with really long hair

Not a #2, but a #4 and some scissors. I can't go too short, or it looks weird. But, my hair was LONG, so this is a welcome change.

RE: Tips for long hair and swim caps

#1 or #2 buzz cut no problems with hair. It doesn't matter really because I don't have long enough hair to make it pop off, but I assume if I did, it could come off.

As far as tucking ears or not, during practice I generally don't simply for comfort. But if I'm racing, I feel like my ears are big brakes that will slow me down if I don't tuck them in. I don't know how true it is, but all the high level swimmers tuck them, and it makes me feel faster, so I do it.

RE: Tips for long hair and swim caps

I haven't got any tips, sorry...
but I've got a related question.
what's the best way to wear such a swim cap, over the ears? or something else? (not especially with long hair)

RE: Tips for long hair and swim caps

I actually find that my cap pops off more easily if I wet the inside of my cap first.
I have fairly long, very thick, curly hair and this is a constant problem for me. The stylist I go to actually knows that my needs are long enough to braid it, but short enough to fit it all in my cap.

At this point, I tend to prefer caps I get from races since they are a bit larger. Silicone caps always seem too small and too slippery--they pop off the most.
I find that race caps, while they don't last too long, are larger sized, since they are designed to fit everyone. I also find that if my forehead is dry and the inside of the cap is dry, it makes a bit of a seal that seems to hold the cap in place. Sounds ridiculous, but it works.

I also find that it matters how much conditioner I've used. When I know it's a big swim day coming up, I don't use as much conditioner in the shower before that swim. Also sounds silly, but it helps.

I empathize with your plight. It's no fun!

RE: Tips for long hair and swim caps

This might be stupid, but I'm assuming you wet the inside of the cap and/or your hair before putting it in there. Girls on my team have told me that if they don't do that, the caps won't stay on. I don't really have that problem, being that I have short hair, so I can't give you specific advice. Sorry.

RE: Tips for long hair and swim caps

Why, just cut it.
