If and when you find it, could you please post it here? I'd love to have the finals, and even semi-finals on DVD so I could watch the pros technique. NBC has all that underwater footage and except for the occasional replay of the men's 4x100 free relay it's going to sit around moldering on some computer somewhere. What a shame. Skip

They own all video rights to the Olympics Are you sure about this? What about sportscasters from other nations? In my experience, Japanese and French television coverage of Olympic events is always vastly superior to US television coverage. I really don't care what language the narrators are speaking. I'm interested in watching technique. BTW, as an update, I tried to phone Mike Ungar but he was out to lunch. I'll try again soon. Of course, I'll try corresponding with the NBC people. I have a stinking suspicion that they're in it for the money; and nitch markets like this won't interest them. I'm also pinging some friends in Europe, China and Australia to see if they have access to any such products.

Does anyone know where I can get a good set of DVD recordings of Olympic swimming events? I see that NBC has four--opening/closing ceremonies, a Michael Phelps special, and a highlights thing. What if I want something more specific? or even from a previous Olympic games? Does anybody anywhere on the planet sell such videos? Please do not refer me to the online streaming stuff. That is not an option for me; and then it's not the quality I want either. Thanks. I had emailed FINA and asked if they had such recordings of Worlds (or Olympics)and if not, if they could direct me (to some TV Network or other). They never even bothered to reply.

It's my understanding that NBC provided the video feeds that all others used. So, no matter how you slice it, you're watching NBC's coverage.
