I noticed that the order of events for the most recent nationals was different.

100fr, 200fr, 440fr, 1760fr, 3 Relays and 7 golds. It did take all day however.

The 1760 in the morning, the rest of the swims in the afternoon and evening. I did not go hunting until the next day.

RE: 2009 SC Nationals Order of Events

Chris I think you would rather have a stroke and an event a day. I'm more willing to double up than most...at SC Zones last spring, a meet I rested for, I did a 200 back - 500 free - 200 fly triple, all within 1.5-2 hours, before doing relays at the end of the meet. At LCM nationals I would have done the 200 free - 200 back - 100 fly triple if they hadn't taken away the 6th event.

I like the 200 fly a lot but it is quite tiring and I don't like to potentially compromise the 100 back. If the order were reversed on some of the schedules (100 back first, then 200 fly) I would have less of a problem. It is just a little frustrating having the exact same double appear in 75% of nationals over four years.

At this point, I'm sure you will probably regale us with a story of how, back in the days when men were men, you swim 6 events in 1 hour before running a marathon and shooting a bison for dinner.

RE: 2009 SC Nationals Order of Events

Look in the rule book. Sigh...I realize that it is hard to please everyone, but what is it that's so attractive about the 200 fly/100 back combination? In 6 out of the 8 schedules, they are back-to-back and in that order.

RE: 2009 SC Nationals Order of Events

Chris, it's not as bad as having a backstroke and breaststroke event together EVERY FREAKIN' TIME.

Then again, I might be the only one complaining about that.

Yeah, I think you're a demographic of one on that one Jeff.

RE: 2009 SC Nationals Order of Events

Hey, If you have qualifying times in LCM, does that count for SCY Nationals.
