At the end of practice, right before warmdown, do a 25 free as fast as possible. Just give it everything you've got left. You might surprise yourself. Totally. Fastest time ever. But it took a coach to make me to do it. I try but I just cannot create the same times at practice. Unless you have a block you won't be able to but you should be able to get close (2-3% off). As Ande said, it's about swimming fast. And as Rich said, it's going fast when you're supposed to go fast. At the end of practice, right before warmdown, do a 25 free as fast as possible. Just give it everything you've got left. Our visit will be from November 23rd through November 29th, and then on to DC for a few days. Surely somewhere in there we can arrange a workout (race :) ).

That's what drop-ins always say. Course it's tough on your ego to have that many girls making you look slow ... Right, Stud? I don't mind losing to a girl...fast is fast. ;)

What... ...are you throwing down?? No, no, just looking for your help in bragging about my teammates. (Alas, all my glory comes from them.) Anyway, Matt, when you are in town, come drop in. If you were coming in October, you could have raced, but oh well. Stud can stand in.

C'mon swim stud, no excuses. I'm in the same boat. Don't take no for an answer. Make it happen. I'm determined to swim some good times this year. I try but I just cannot create the same times at practice.

We should be able to work something out. An afternoon workout followed by some beer and dinner sounds good. :drink: I used to play soccer on the astroturf outside, when I stayed in the city for a couple of weeks.

Here you go guys--no better pool in NYC, than the one at Asphalt Green (and the team is really drop in friendly and a group of great people.) Here is the link to the masters site (and you can see some national results) www.asphaltgreen.org/category.aspx The schedule is on there as well--right now it is long course--in the fall/winter, it is long course on Friday and saturday mornings. Enjoy! That pool is the one I was thinking of.

You can contact Patrick Cantrell who is the director of the masters program. PCantrell@asphaltgreen.org I really do not think there is a better pool in the city. Great group of people both in the morning and evenings--the mid day work outs I hear are different. I work out in the am's. I did swim at night during hell week and met the best people. Either way, you cannot lose.
