Thank you so much! NO WAY! I am still a sprinter. I just happen to enter distance events. BAH HUMBUG! :):) See you @ a masters practice soon I hope! Still supposed to take another week off from swimming as my yearly rest. :rant3: But after that I hope to see you and swimcat at some masters workouts. I&#39;ve been running as Landon said to still be active and do different things. He does not want me out of shape in August. Lots of blisters, sweating, and sore thighs are involved. Swimming is sooooo much nicer!
I tell you, the first few times I ran 5 miles around Stone Mountain, I felt that it was more difficult than moderately hard workouts with the kids. But it&#39;s been a few days and now I&#39;m adjusting.

Swimcat, glad you are getting in some pool time even though it&#39;s limited. Pilates! Good idea! I will be adding that in as well. My gym offers it. It will be hard for me as I&#39;ve not done it in a while. Gah! Same here. Trying hard not to overeat. We don&#39;t keep any snack food in the house and that helps. Only apples. Apples and running are a terrible way to live. Very boring. :rant3: Hubby held up great. He had his mp3 and PSP to keep him occupied. He said it went by fast b/c he would look for me every time I came around the 5K loop and my escort would give him updates. He was a saint I have to say. He even had my recovery drink for me right after I finished.

Rtodd, thank you!<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Congrats (S)he-Man!

can u clone him .

Ha ha! He&#39;ll love hearing that! We&#39;d love to have you join us for lunch or dinner any time we&#39;re at a meet together. I hope we&#39;re both back competing soon! Let me know your upcoming schedule!

Winnie, thank you so much and glad to hear you are going to be visiting in October. You just name the time and place (for practice first - either Dyna or SA), and I&#39;ll be there. I love catching up with you! I want to hear all about your outdoor adventures! You&#39;ll be fine in OW. I hated it at first until I did enough of them. Now, it&#39;s a cakewalk! At least in the lakes. Oceans are a bit more tricky, but it&#39;s coming along.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Congrats (S)he-Man!

Thanks SwimCat! Hehe I need to have my coach go over it all again, my shoudler hurt a little either way so I dunno. Went to my chiro today for some shoulder maintenance and I asked him about your issue. He immediately said &quot;coracobrachialis.&quot; Haven&#39;t googled it, but my understanding is that it is basically a nerve entrapment somewhere on the nerve pathway from neck down the arm. It would cause the &quot;going to sleep&quot; sensation in your forearms and hands. ART woul definitely help, although could be painful! Sounds fixable! Good luck!

If I took 1 minutes rests every 1500 it would be much better as that is all that is required for sensation to return to my lower arm and hand. My coach doesn&#39;t see anything wrong, beats me. I do have a chiro but haven&#39;t been to him since he cured my knee issues and that was before I went on a 10 month distance bender and this issue became more annoying.

Ande, thank you. Only a couple of people wore the B70. The number #2 finisher had one on but he had some rough chafing going on. I opted for a FSII - comfort over buoyancy. I think I made the right choice as my core was fine for the entire swim. One tiny chafe mark. I was pretty cool temp-wise in a silver one. I heard that once your core goes, you are toast! Hence, the great thing about the B70. But, our coach makes us do hundreds of crunches, so no worries.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Congrats (S)he-Man!

(S)he-Man,

i ask because if this is more likely to occur during scy, it might have something to do with your walls (streamline cutting circulation).

kristina took feedings every 15 min (i don&#39;t swim 1500 anything in 15 min). this is a good strategy to keep hydrated and energized and could break up a longer swim into bits unlikely to produce said undesirable effect. of course, anything less than 10k is typically done sans nutrition.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Congrats (S)he-Man!

She,
