I haven't swam this race since I was 16 and I have no idea what my time was. But, I am actually excited to do it. I feel that the 1500 is too long

RE: What to expect from the 800 LC Free

My advice is start out slower (at least in terms of feel) than you think you need to. Just keep it long and smooth. Once you get to the 400 pick it up if you feel like you can. Don't pay attention to what anyone else is doing around you, just swim your own race.

As far as a time, I'd say since you can hold around 1:15/100 for your 400 free shoot for somewhere around 1:20/100 which would give you a 10:40. I don't think a sub 10:30 sounds out of the question for you.

RE: What to expect from the 800 LC Free

Kirk,
My splits for my 400 free two weeks ago were around 1:14, 1:20, 1:21, 1:17. 10:30 to 10:40 sounds like a good time to shoot for. If I do any better, it will be a bonus.
