I believe the 200 fly is the event most affected by age (and extra weight, for that matter). I keep in pretty good shape, but last summer I was a whopping 14 seconds from my college time in the 200 LCM fly. It is a brutal event (though one I used to love when younger). So what Dennis has done is pretty incredible.

Dennis is making another run at his trials cut this coming weekend. I believe it is too late to qualify for trials?

Dennis is making another run at his trials cut this coming weekend. He'll be swimming in his home pool, the Aquatics Center at Mt. Hood Community College. This is the same great pool where, along with Brandon Draws, Dennis will be the meet director for the USMS Long Course Summer Nationals. Dennis likes it better than the LZR. Rogue Santos wore one at National SCY and really liked it. They are around 300 compared to 550 for the LZR. Give or take a few bux. He also went a 2:04 low + in 06 or 07 with only a regular race suit on.

my Buddy Peter Nunan said Dennis wore the Blue Seventy PointZero3+ swim skin when he went 2:04.68 in the 200 LCM fly recently (he was 2:06.94 in 2006) The suit's mainly been used in open water swims but it's FINA approved Pete Nunan said several people wore them at Santa Clara and had excellent time drops I'm curious to see how the suit compares to the LZR looks like Speedo might have copied them "blueseventy had produced a world first – a swim skin made out of rubber that neither floated nor sank" Story Triathlon shops carry it

Dennis is a great guy and an exceptional talent...and there are few that train as hard as the guy does. I've spoken with him a few times about his training and like everyone else read about his routine, I'd love to see what he would be capable of if rested more than he typically has in the past (only a few days for worlds) and put in more time strength training and doing speed work. On a related note....Jeff Commings missed the 100 *** cuts by about 1.5 seconds. Great effort on his part....he's been there before sand i know, would have loved to be there again doing more than reporting...hopefully it pissed him off enough to get ready for our 200 medley relay in Portland! Paul, work on him. I need y'all to carry my dead weight on that relay! P.S. I am surprised you didn't attribute your quote in your signature. I know you didn't say that...

Looks like he had to leave before finals --- he should have one more shot at it in a couple of weeks. I think he has been going 2:04 for 3 years+ now. His 100 time is just not fast enough to go 2:03

Although I am a little disappointed he got beat by an older guy in the 100 Fly - way to go Paul and Dennis ..
