Not the best scenario, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Back in college our locker room literally had the toilets adjacent to some of the lockers. If you were sitting on the throne you were probably no more than about three feet from the nearest locker. Yes, the freshman got those lockers. :)

You had lockers? Neither of the college/universities I swam for had lockers for the men's swim team. One had an equipment room, the other had a space much like a county pool change room, cement benches along the walls with hanging green mesh bags and a towel "boy" (he was about 75)/ attendant.

RE: Men's Locker Room

I'l show you mine if you show me yours:D:bolt:

RE: Men's Locker Room

i feel dirty peeking into the mens room!

RE: Men's Locker Room

Why am I here? :thhbbb:

RE: Men's Locker Room

Why do girls need doors??? If you were doing an experiment and had to use the bathroom, you went into the only place available, regardless of who was in there. Among the science nerds, not ruining an experiment by taking too long away from it was more important than modesty. It got to the point that no one even looked twice at whoever else was in there. Ah, the good old days...

There was one latrine and in typical fashion: stalls with no doors and a shower room with the shower heads along the walls. The "male" and "female" sign was tried to prevent embarrassment, but it didn't work after PT when One group had to wait for another group to get done or a prudish (usually a female) soldier locked the door and no one was happy. The answer: if the sign was up it was that gender's turn. If it was down, it was coed. It didn't take long before stall doors were put on (regulations say females have to get doors) and the sign was down all the time. If a new soldier came in and didn't like it, they either got along or moved.

There weren't really any issues with males and females showering together. Within six months another barracks built and the females moved out. I don't think anyone was happy. I think the leadership believed the sign was working and up all the time.

RE: Men's Locker Room

First person to finish wins, right?

Since there are so few swimmers, my answer is to head back to the pool and use the deck shower. Much faster and virtually private.

I'll be dresssed and heading out as these guys come walking out of the shower area. Bragg. Not only weren't there any doors, there were no partitions. The movie 'Stripes' has an accurate portrayal. Although unlike 'Stripes', cadet-land had men and women training together in the same platoon. The women stayed in a separate barracks that we were prohibited from entering, but they were allowed to enter our barracks after hollering out 'female on the floor!' However they would usually enter first then holler as an afterthought if at all. More than one time this would happen when a guy was walking from the latrine to his bunk wearing shorts or just a towel.

I was there too (1983). Old Division Area. The females would just walk in...because they could I guess.

Went back as an instructor before IOBC (1984). Taught tactics. I n one company there was a female whose goal was to "do" every black guy in the company and in another company a female was going to "do" every guy in her platoon.

Coming from an all male college, we were well warned to steer clear of females for the 6 weeks. Glad I listened. Lots of guys lost careers before they even had one.

RE: Men's Locker Room

The Army taught me to be fast.
