the new average for height is 70.54 inches so 5&#39;10 1/2 roughly.
the new average for wingspan is 72.20 so 6&#39;0 and 1/5 roughly.

the standard deviation for height is 3.574 (we will just say 3.6) so most swimmers are between 5&#39;6 9/10 and 6&#39;1 1/10.

the standard deviation for wingspan is 3.955 so well just say 4. that means most swimmers have wingspans between 5&#39;8 and 6&#39;4.

i have yet to do the stroke an male vs. female averages. ill probably close the thread submission into my data wise after we get 75 posters. then ill calculate all th extra little facts.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: swimmer stats

OK - Male age 49

I am very new to swimming (about 5 months total with Masters) and I am equally strong in all strokes at this point, except for fly. I&#39;m not sure which is &quot;my&quot; stroke yet, or even if I am a sprint or distance swimmer. My interest/passion seems to be towards open water and these are endurance/distance events.....
