im hoping for my first masters meet this year. Warm up for HS (yes im that young) season. I don't know where but ill be swimming 100 and 200 back. and swimming the IM's. Possibly fly and distance... ok how about everything :laugh2:. I'm just hoping to get my 200 backstroke under 2 minutes by September and i'm fine. Daniel, I think the minimum age for Masters is 18. You might want to check. Paul

I just sent in my entry form (via express usps) for the Albatross Meet - can't wait: 1) First time swimming SCM 2) First real USMS meet 3) Put faces with the avatars & personalities 4) The Social :bouncing::bouncing: YAY!! ps - hotel suggestions welcome . . . Let's see. Hotels close by are: Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Executive Meeting Center, about 2 miles from the pool Woodfin Suite Hotel Rockville - about 7 miles from the pool Sheraton Rockville Hotel - about 6 miles from the pool If need more detail lemme know, I live about 20 minutes from the pool

I know what you mean...sometimes there's nothing...sometimes you REALLY have to dig. - look in newsletters for announcements, - past meet results (for probable upcoming meets) - other links (AZ has a lot) - individual team web sites (usually a best bet for their sponsored meets) - neighboring LMSC sites, etc. - contact one of your LMSC chairs When I looked under Links/Teams/Ford Aquatics Masters (a biggie, I presume, but not sure if it's near you) here's what they show as tentative: Ford Aquatics Masters Meet Info.(click on the meet info. you wish to view) DATES MEET NAME / LINK & LOCATION 02/03/08 Polar Bear Classic XVIII, Hillenbrand Aquatic Center, Tucson, AZ 03/??/08 ¿¿¿Sun Devil Invitational??? 03/28/08 - 03/30/08 ??? ¿¿¿Arizona Masters SC Yards State Championships??? 04/11/08 - 04/13/08 SC Yards SW Zone, Mission Viejo, CA (meet info) 05/01/08 - 05/04/08 USMS SCY Nationals, University of Texas, Austin, TX Good luck, Mark That's a good concept, but so far it looks like there is only 1 meet scheduled in Arizona this year: www.azlmsc.org/events.htm I'm sure there will be more as the time gets closer.

Mermaid, Is your AMS LMSC, Allegheny Mountain? As in Pittsburgh, my hometown (actually, the burbs of Plum Borough/Penn Hills/Monroeville.) I tried to look around for you, but all I found was some info through the Lake Erie LMSC http://www.lelmsc.org/. The Lake Erie site listed "Allegheny LMSC (Team Pitt site)" www.psc.edu/.../tpa.htm under its "Swim Links." Sorry, that's all I got... Mark (I'd say go Pirates! The meet entry info isn't available yet that I know of...The general meet listing is available at the Dixie Zone site: www.dixiezone.org/Meets.htm. Keep an eye out for the entry info there, probably in the next 30 days or so... Anyone have a link to the Gary Eaton meet? Is it a USMS meet?

and the IGLA Champs will be SCM as well. Damn, I was hoping for a LCM and was told it was one. Good thing I found out as I was getting ready to start training for it as well. I'm still hoping to go, I'll find some different events. I'll also be doing the Albatross and Colonies meets.

Jim: You are on buddy. 50, 100, 200...best 2 out 3 for the 2007/2008 season. I'm guessing pretty much even up, right? And the winner gets...:thhbbb: Sure, I'm up for some gridge matches in any of the BR events. Looking at last year, you had me beat in the 50, while I led the 100 and 200. We could pick any one or go for all thee. It also looks like you're ahead in the weight category too. You said in another thread you went from 200 to 178 this year. I've gone from 226 down to 184 so far. My new goal is to lose 1/2 a Jayhawk, which if successful would get me down to 173. Alan: You know I figured you two would chime in. Ummm...LCM...my bane. I haven't done it in 20+ years. Don't intend to start this year so it will have to be SCY... Even up with you, too? What shall we race for in 2008?:duel: Of course I'll do BR any distance,any course,but 100 BR LCM is my favorite.:banana::banana::banana:

Mark you all mention the meets - where can we get links to the info about the meets and logistical stuff. Some are listed here under the calendar section, others are not. Help us navigate to meets close (proximity) and abuiltiy and timing.
