Hey George,

Who said anything about curing a cold? Drinking tea will at least give your body a fighting chance. Conversely, being physically tired from training can make you more susceptible to the bug. Tea helps...

RE: Feet First 25 scy Sprint Swimming Championships

this morning

looks like 26.3 is the fastest time so far
J, was that yards or meters

Ande,

Yes, I did the feet-first challenge in a meter pool...

Sorry you're not feeling well... I've felt a bit of a cold coming as well, but drinking lot's of rooibos tea...

Maybe your cold is from your very FAST work-out... perhaps it took a little out of the system.. or you were just starting to fight the cold, so there was extra energy during the performance...? Is it possible you stayed too excited after (those were excellent times), potentially draining your energy?

Anna LeaWell it wouldn’t be much of a reverse crawl on your back, now would it? Think of watching a freestyle race in reverse. The hand enters at the hip and pulls (pushes?) past the head and recovers back (forward?) to the hips. You can actually get a pretty good EVF (LVF?) in reverse.

As for starting, back in the day when we used to race feet first, corkscrew, synchrostyle (backstroke with one leg straight up out of the water, you got a time bonus for best toe point) we found the best start from the blocks was a ¾ flip. It starts out like a normal dive, but in air you tuck, flip and land feet first at an angle similar to a regular start. NOTE: this works best if you are an invulnerable teen age boy, not a creaky adult who should know better. And besides, didn’t we say in water starts?

RE: Feet First 25 scy Sprint Swimming Championships

very interesting

we swam LCM this morning
so I wasn't able to take a crack yet

part of the puzzle is figuring out how to get a good reverse streamline glide off the start jump
racers have to enter feet first on their starts

maybe we'll go SCY tomorrow

reverse free on the belly might be a good way to go
I don't see how kicking will help maybe some sort of crazy reverse dolphin

look forward to reading more results

RE: Feet First 25 scy Sprint Swimming Championships

any one gonna do this?Last night from an in-water start with a hand push-off and toes on wall finish; I went 26.4, doing a reverse crawl.
