MISSION VIEJO, California, September 26. So does this mean that KNelson can swim a relay with SwimStud, myself and Poolrat?
Otherwise, what is the point of having a USMS coach? Not to take anything away from Mark, as I know he's a great (and deserving) coach... but this doesn't really make much sense.

RE: Mission Viejo's Mark Moore named Head Coach of USMS FINA Team

Is it like the nationals in that anyone can enter a certain number of events without qualifying, or do you have to place at a certain level in your own country's nationals? Just curious, not that I'm thinking of going or would even be qualified to go. Maybe it'll be a future goal for me.

RE: Mission Viejo's Mark Moore named Head Coach of USMS FINA Team

Anyone can swim at Worlds. If you swim an event and don't make the qualifying time you get listed as "NT" in the results. The qualifying times are actually easier than Nationals, typically.

RE: Mission Viejo's Mark Moore named Head Coach of USMS FINA Team

I'm not going, but I think it makes a lot of sense. Even though we can't compete as "Team U.S.A." having a USMS coaching staff on hand seems like a great way to foster unity within the USMS contingent. I thought it was great how various countries at Stanford came together as a group even if they weren't officially competing for their respective countries. I'd love to see the USMS swimmers come together like that in Perth.
