On page 44, they have a "How Fit Are You?" quiz. One of the questions has to do with how fast the quiz-taker can swim 500 yards. a tip o' the hat to gufyduck for taking the initiative and adding the usms (etc.) links to the wiki page. i thought about it, but was too lazy to do it at the time.

still... i'm amazed and befuddled that when you google that usms does not pop up in any form till the 7th page of hits. i'd of thought usms had more clout than that in the swimming (web) world.

just my :2cents:

of course if you google usms their web comes right up (the wiki page is still buried)... but ya' gotta know about usms in the first place.

RE: USMS web site mentioned in Outside magazine

Didn't it imply that you were only fit of you could go sub-5:00 for the 500? Yeah, I think most of the quiz was tongue-in-cheek. ;) But the national exposure for USMS is good! :cheerleader:

RE: USMS web site mentioned in Outside magazine

Didn't it imply that you were only fit of you could go sub-5:00 for the 500? I haven't seen the article, but if they're judging fitness by USMS age group records, not many people would pass the test.

RE: USMS web site mentioned in Outside magazine

There will be some jaws dropping when they see the times and attempt to match them.

RE: USMS web site mentioned in Outside magazine

Didn't it imply that you were only fit of you could go sub-5:00 for the 500?
