OMS I thought I may travel to Bellingham Washington and try a workout or 2 with them. I asked if they had a duffers lane but have not received a reply. It is 65 k from my home.

We should get Team Hottub sanctioned as an official team and then we could have realys. I soooo would love to do relays but as usual I will be the only member of my team attending. Sigh. Paul

The reason I stayed with OMS way over here. I can do relays for once. I normally don't like them but I will so enjoy them with OMS. Relays have always been my number one reason for swimming. Some of best swims ever have been on a relay.

Long Course National Championships will be held August 14-17 at the Mt. Hood Community College Aquatic Center in Gresham, Oregon. Signed up, entered 3 Events 50 Fly, 50Free and 100 free. Registered USMS swimmer for PNA. Booked my room, if you need a room better book now, I had to call 6 hotels to get a vacancie.

If so I'll let you know who the PNA relay coordinator is (once I know). I imagine we'll have a pretty large PNA contingent at the meet and we're always looking for good relay swimmers!

It's at the University of Maryland, I know a bunch of guys who're going, but my times don't qualify.

It's at the University of Maryland, I know a bunch of guys who're going, but my times don't qualify. Actually, no JL, LCM Nationals are in Portland, Oregon. Colonies Zone LCM Championships are at Univ of Maryland one week later and that meet does not require qualifying times to swim. Only USMS National events require qulifiying times and that is only to be able to swim a total of 4 to 6 events. Any registered USMS swimmer can swim 3 events in a USMS Nationals meet regardless of times. Paul

I just entered the meet!! I'm all set - car rental done, air plane tickets done, entry done. Now if August would get here sooner.

I'm not completely sure on the events yet, but I think I'll swim the 50,100,200,400, and 1500 free, and the 100 fly. I only have 3 qualifying times so I'm partially locked in. If I pick up more qualifying times in Arizona next weekend I may change things, like swim the 200 IM instead of 100 free on Saturday.

I'll be there, with my parents and mini-me. It'll be fun. My wife opted out of using her vacation time on a mere swim meet (I believe she used slightly stronger words). Instead we'll be visiting the Outer Banks in early Aug, where a "beach vacation taper" (the best kind) figures prominently in my swimming preparation for Oregon...

I'll be there! I have been looking forward to this for almost 2 years. I moved to VA from Portland 2 years ago so I get to go "home". I haven't decided what I'm swimming yet, though. 400, 800 free, 400 IM, 200 *** are a given. But the rest are up in the air. Paul why aren't you going?

Portland is one of my favourite cities; it has terrific public transit, great public art and meeting places, excellent restaurants and Oregon Pinot Noir rocks. And a nice place to swim. And no sales tax. And great beer everywhere! Gresham is a great starting point for exploring the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood, as well.
