I wonder if Bill Volckening (USMS Swimmer mag editor) will be posting a link to any of the pics his photographers got at nationals. I don&#39;t think it was me, but glad you enjoyed it! There&#39;s certainly lots of natural beauty in this area and I hope some attendees got a chance to enjoy it. There&#39;s another aspect of &quot;re-entry&quot; - I woke up at 5 am Monday morning craving more racing. It&#39;s hard to get out of thoroughbred mode after being in it for days. So I ran 12 miles. Problem solved! Seriously, that worked like a charm. Back to engine building for triathlon season!<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: 2007 Masters Nationals

As I re-enter my &quot;real life&quot; back in PA, after competing in my first masters nationals, I am struck by the fact that I feel the same way as I did twenty years ago as an age-grouper after coming back from a big away meet... lots of people asking me how I did &amp; congratulating me, but no one really &quot;understanding&quot; - no one really knowing what it is like to spend a long weekend with cool people who take part in a cool sport. I am so glad to be back in the water...

I attended the Mariners game on Friday night &amp; had the pleasure of meeting &quot;PoolRaat&quot; &amp; &quot;imspoiled&quot; (imspoiled also being my neighbor from about 10 minutes away here in suburban Philly) and many other great people. The meet was a blast in general.

I&#39;m hoping I can convince a crew of my teammates to come next year to the party in Austin.

Hope everyone&#39;s &quot;re-entry&quot; is going smoothly &amp; that you take time to feel good about your meet.

best to everyone,

Hey Alexis, It was great meeting you. I watched a few of your swims (and checked results on the others) and you did great!:applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

I know what you mean about &quot;re-entry&quot;. They ask how you did but all one can say is &quot;I did okay.&quot; Start talking about the races, people you met, or anything else related to the meet and you get that blank look. They don&#39;t really have a clue.

Jeff,

Get yourself a generic mp3 player, the kind that plug into a PC like a flash drive. Then install Real Player on your PC, rip the tracks from the CD to the PC and copy them to the mp3 player. A little extra time, but much simpler around the pool.

Now, lend me some of your speed genes!!!<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: 2007 Masters Nationals

I noticed Jeff was listening to a CD Walkman between his races. Can we get a collection together to get that man an iPod? It ain&#39;t right for someone that fast to be stuck with stone age technology! :D Did anyone get a chance to talk to Anthony at all?

You&#39;re not the only one to notice that I&#39;m still listening to CDs. I know iPods are very convenient, but until I get a car that will allow me to play an iPod, I will stick with CDs. But it was hard to carry that thing around; it was too big to fit into my pockets!

I talked to Anthony as well. Very nice to hear him say that he wants to continue to do masters. And stereotype him all you want about the tattoos, but he&#39;s a very personable guy and well-spoken.

Rich, I remember when I broke the 30-34 record in the 100 *** in 2004, and you were the loudest person then. Nice to know I have a consistent fan. When you went 1:00 in the 100 IM, I was too shocked to speak, but I was cheering on the inside.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: 2007 Masters Nationals

So who&#39;s got the videos ready for upload to YouTube?
